As former trainee in the office of Mr Csaba Sógor in the European Parliament I had the opportunity to participate in a conference organized in Cluj, Romania. MEP Sógor invited all of his ex-trainees from the last 10 years to discuss about the position of Romania and the national minorities in Europe. About 35% of the invited persons were there to meet new people and to take part in a very useful programme. We tried to find answers to the relevant problems of the continent and listened to some very interesting presentations.

I used to say that for interpreters the European Parliament is like the Olympics for professional athletes. Well, I have the rare opportunity to attend the Brussels/Strasbourg Olympics for a month. After two exam sessions held last year in Romania which ended in a successfull manner, I now spend four weeks in the capital of the European Union as a trainee. It is definitely a very useful experience: I am attending committee and working group meetings, conferences, take notes, translate texts and get acquainted with many people working or spending their internship in Brussels.
